The Pyth Network Entropy service ("Entropy") is available on Pyth Network ("Pyth") on an "AS IS," "WITH ALL FAULTS," and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without any warranties or representations of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability.
Further information on Pyth's governance can be found at https://github.com/pyth-network/governance/blob/main/docs/constitution/pyth-dao-constitution.md.
Pyth DAO LLC, Pyth Data Association, including their respective officers, directors, employees, consultants, equityholders, members, representatives, other agents, as well as contributors to Pyth expressly disclaim any guarantee that Entropy will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from delays, outages, or inaccuracies in the generation or delivery of random numbers.
Users of Entropy (collectively, “Users”) acknowledge and accept all risks associated with its use, including but not limited to:
Potential outages or unavailability due to network congestion, blockchain forks, or failures in the decentralized network of data providers;
Errors or inaccuracies in random number generation due to technical limitations, malicious attacks, or data provider failures;
Delays in random number delivery caused by blockchain transaction latencies or the commit-reveal protocol; and/or
Security vulnerabilities, including risks of manipulation or exploits targeting Entropy’s cryptographic mechanisms or verifiable delay functions (VDFS).
Neither Pyth DAO LLC, Pyth Data Association, including their respective officers, directors, employees, consultants, equityholders, members, representatives, other agents, as well as contributors to Pyth shall be liable for any claims, liabilities, losses, costs, or damages, including direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, or consequential damages, arising out of or in connection with the use of or inability to use Entropy, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or any other legal theory. This includes, but is not limited to, financial losses resulting from reliance on random numbers generated by Entropy.
Users are solely responsible for implementing additional measures to mitigate risks associated with Entropy, including but not limited to:
Deploying fallback mechanisms or alternative randomness sources to handle outages or unavailability;
Conducting thorough testing and validation of smart contracts to ensure robustness against errors or delays in random number generation;
Monitoring Entropy’s performance and implementing circuit breakers or pause functionalities in dApps to address potential inaccuracies or attacks; and/or
Consulting Pyth documentation (https://docs.pyth.network/) for guidance on integrating and securing Entropy.
By using Entropy, Users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer and assume full responsibility for any risks or losses incurred.
Pyth DAO LLC reserves the right to modify or discontinue Entropy at any time without prior notice.
