Pyth Monthly Update I September 2023
Oct 5, 2023

“How smartly September comes in, like a racing gig, all style, no confusion” — Eleanor Clark

For some readers, September was ‘Back to school’ season or even ‘Back to the office’. For the Pyth Network contributors, the month was ‘business as usual’ and then some. We’ve welcomed a new contributor to the Pyth Network, launched an upgrade to the oracle network, and kicked off the first set of community awareness initiatives for Pyth governance.
We’re pleased to be joined by Douro Labs, a new core contributor and a cutting-edge blockchain infrastructure company focused on the development and acceleration of the Pyth protocol and ecosystem. It took them little time to deliver the Perseus Upgrade, a major improvement to the Pyth Price Feeds. This upgrade substantially reduces gas costs for users while decreasing latency and enhancing reliability.
The community has expressed their excitement for Douro Labs to propel the network to permissionless mainnet and deploying on-chain governance. Shortly after these announcements, the Pyth Data Association published the Pyth Network Whitepaper Version 2.0.
September was also a big month of crypto conferences. We shook hands with Pythians all around the world from Singapore (Token 2049) to Austin (Permissionless II), New York (Messari Mainnet) to Berlin (Solana Hacker House). If you couldn’t travel, no worries. You can catch Mike Cahill and Jayant Krishnamurthy speaking on all things oracle-related in a torrent of new podcast episodes and online shows.
